Most of us have heard the buzz behind raspberry ketone because of it great fat burning capabilities. While this is why most of us are interested in raspberry ketone, there are a couple of interesting benefits you may not of heard about.
A study conducted in Japan concluded that raspberry ketones play a role in increasing skin elasticity and also in promoting hair growth in people with alopecia. Since raspberry ketone is chemically similar to capsaicin which is known to increase skin elasticity and also promoted hair growth, researchers set out to test raspberry ketones effects on the same traits.
In the study conducted, researchers applied a topical cream containing raspberry ketone extract as the active ingredient on the scalp and facial skin of humans with alopecia and also on the skin of mice. In general terms, Alopecia is pattern baldness.
The study concluded that in the mice, the raspberry ketone cream increased IGF-1 (insuline growth factor) in the hair follicles and stimulated hair re-growth 4 weeks after application. In the human study participants, the raspberry ketone extract cream resulted in 50% of the subjects seeing hair re-growth after 5 months and it also increased their skin elasticity, which is how you fight wrinkles.
The study concluded their results strongly suggest raspberry ketone might be very effective in hair re-growth and keeping skin looking young due to increasing IGF-1. So, it is very possible raspberry ketone is much more than an effective fat burning supplement but may also be an effective way to treat aged skin or curing baldness.
